Synopsis:
After a stormy landing on Earth, which is now under the occupation of Illumidus, Captain Harlock is dismissed from his post and his ship, and is sentenced to more than one person in the midst of a people subjugated by a foreign race. A tiny ray of hope is heard on a radio pirate named the Voice of Free Arcadia, encouraging the inhabitants of earth to believe in a future of freedom, a better tomorrow without oppression today. Harlock acknowledges, with nostalgia, the charismatic voice of this transmission. Words which makes your heart pound and with the help of new friends, the legendary captain invoke all their courage to fight against all odds to can navigate the sea of stars with his ship Arcadia.
This is an anime worshiped by many, with a huge dramatic tone that describes the past of the legendary character Leiji Matsumoto. The art of this anime is a sensitive issue to be discussed, because it shows its age considerably, and the roughness in the animation merely the result of using older techniques. Meanwhile the artwork of some scenes is simply excellent, and the beautiful symphonic music that enhances the technical aspect.
Although it is a classic of Japanese animation, there's certain aspects of My Youth in Arcadia that can irritate some people like to have certain laws of physics ignored. Besides the fact that some characters are not fully engaged in the story as if it indrodução of Captain Harlock is need of an introduction of herself.
